How We Protect Your Safety

The multiple layers of security protecting every transaction.

How We Protect Your Security

Haceme el Favor is built with security at every level. From identity verification to AI-powered fraud detection, we have implemented multiple layers of protection to keep both solicitantes and favorecedores safe. This article explains every security measure in detail.

Security Is Not Optional. Every feature described here is active by default for all users. You do not need to enable anything — these protections work automatically from the moment you create your account.

Six Layers of Security

Our platform uses a defense-in-depth approach with six distinct security layers. Each one adds an additional barrier against fraud, abuse, and unsafe behavior:

6 Layers of Platform Security HEF PROTECTED 1 Provider Verification Cedula + Interview 2 GPS-Verified Proof Auto GPS Coordinates 3 AI Smart Review Content Check + Blocking 4 Secure Payments PCI-DSS via Stripe 5 Dispute Resolution AI-Assisted Analysis 6 Platform Monitoring Fraud Detection + AML Every transaction passes through all 6 layers before completion 100% Verified Providers GPS Every Proof Geotagged AI Smart Content Review

Layer 1: Provider Verification

Every favorecedor on the platform must complete a strict verification process before they can accept any favor:

  • Nicaraguan cedula verification — Valid national identity card is required. Front and back photos are checked for authenticity, and AI face matching compares the cedula photo with a live selfie.
  • Certificado de Conducta (Police Record Certificate) — Every favorecedor must provide an official Certificado de Conducta from the Policia Nacional de Nicaragua. We verify this document using the Police's online verification portal. This confirms the person has no criminal record.
  • In-person or video interview — Every provider goes through a personal interview to confirm their identity and assess trustworthiness.
  • Smartphone with GPS camera — Providers must have a GPS-enabled device capable of capturing geotagged photos and videos.
  • Address verification — The provider's physical location in Nicaragua is confirmed during the onboarding process.
More verification than Uber, DoorDash, or Airbnb. No ride-share or delivery app requires a police record certificate. We do. Read the full background verification process.

Layer 2: GPS-Verified Proof

All evidence submitted for favor completion includes automatic GPS coordinate verification:

  • Photos and videos are automatically tagged with GPS metadata at the moment of capture.
  • The platform cross-references the GPS location with the expected task location.
  • Manipulated or missing GPS data triggers an automatic review flag.
  • Solicitantes can see the exact coordinates on a map when reviewing the proof.

Layer 3: AI-Powered Smart Review

Before any favor is published or any proof is accepted, our AI system reviews the content:

  • Favor description screening — AI checks every favor description against prohibited content categories and blocks them before publishing.
  • Image and video analysis — Uploaded proof is scanned for inappropriate content, manipulation, or inconsistencies.
  • Pattern detection — Unusual behavior patterns (rapid submissions, duplicate content, suspicious timing) are automatically flagged for human review.

Layer 4: Secure Payments

All financial transactions are protected by industry-standard security:

  • PCI-DSS compliant via Stripe — Payment processing meets the highest security standards in the financial industry.
  • Secure payment processing — Money is collected via Stripe and held securely until the solicitante confirms task completion. Favorecedores receive weekly batch payouts via Payoneer.
  • No credit card storage — Your card numbers are never stored on our servers. Stripe handles all sensitive payment data.
  • Payouts via Payoneer — Provider earnings are sent through Payoneer, a trusted global payment platform.

Layer 5: Dispute Resolution

When disagreements arise, our dispute resolution system ensures fair outcomes:

  • Dedicated dispute process accessible from your dashboard.
  • AI assistance analyzes all submitted evidence (photos, videos, GPS data, timestamps) to help determine the truth.
  • Both parties can submit their side of the story with supporting evidence.
  • Resolutions are issued within 48-72 hours.
  • Funds are held securely until the dispute is resolved.

Layer 6: Platform Monitoring

Behind the scenes, our systems continuously monitor for suspicious activity:

  • Fraud detection engine — Machine learning algorithms identify unusual patterns that may indicate fraud.
  • Device fingerprinting — Multiple accounts from the same device are flagged and investigated.
  • AML flags — Anti-money laundering checks flag transactions that meet suspicious activity thresholds.
  • Rate limiting — Automated systems prevent abuse through rapid-fire requests or submissions.

Your Side of Security

We also protect your account with standard web security measures:

  • Strong password requirements — Minimum length and complexity rules prevent weak passwords.
  • Session management — Automatic session expiry after inactivity. Active sessions can be viewed and terminated from your settings.
  • CSRF protection — All forms are protected against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • HTTPS everywhere — All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted.

What We Do NOT Do

Your Privacy Matters. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers. We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing. We do not sell user data. We do not track your activity outside the platform.

How to Report Suspicious Activity

If you encounter suspicious behavior, unsafe situations, or potential fraud on the platform:

  1. Use the in-app report button — Every favor listing, profile, and message thread has a report option. Tap it to flag the content for review.
  2. Contact support — Reach out through the contact form or support email for urgent security concerns.
  3. Provide details — Include the favor ID, screenshots, and a description of what happened. The more detail you provide, the faster we can investigate.
