Payment Methods for Requesters
Haceme el Favor uses Stripe, one of the world's most secure payment processors, to handle all credit and debit card transactions. Your payment information is protected with industry-leading security standards, and your card numbers are never stored on our servers.
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following credit and debit cards through Stripe:
- Visa — Credit and debit cards
- Mastercard — Credit and debit cards
- American Express — Credit cards
How Payment Works
Our payment system uses an authorization-then-charge model to protect both requesters and providers. Here is the step-by-step flow of how your money moves through the system:
- Authorization at publishing — When you publish a favor, your card is authorized for the favor amount. This is a hold, not a charge. The funds remain in your account but are reserved.
- Funds held securely — While the favor is in progress, the authorized amount is held securely by Stripe. No charge appears on your statement yet.
- Charge on confirmation — When you confirm the favor is complete and you are satisfied with the proof, the payment is charged to your card.
- Authorization released on cancellation — If you cancel the favor before a provider accepts it, the authorization is released and the hold on your card is removed.
- Dispute handling — If there is a dispute between you and the provider, the funds remain held pending resolution by our support team.
Security
Your payment security is our top priority:
- PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant — Stripe maintains the highest level of payment security certification.
- No card numbers stored — Your card details are processed directly by Stripe. Our servers never see or store your full card number.
- Encrypted transmission — All payment data is encrypted with TLS 1.3 during transmission.
- Tokenized storage — Stripe replaces your card data with a secure token for recurring use.
Local Cash Payments
For requesters who are physically in Nicaragua, there is an alternative option:
